GTE Ground-based Measurements and Satellite Observations

GTE Platforms
GTE field studies are based primarily upon the use of the NASA flying laboratories instumented for measurements of a wide range of atmospheric parameters and species. Meaurements from ground and space platforms are typically included in the GTE mission design to supplement the aircraft measurements. The simultaneous measurements of trace gases from airborne platforms, augmented by the ground and space measurements provide important inputs to the atmospheric chemistry models being developed for predictions of climate change.
